Description (what this is)

This event is a low-cost educational opportunity through the Women’s Initiative Fund (PSIA/AASI WIF). The fund was developed by Snowboard National Team Member Stephanie Wilkerson (in conjunction with the national Women’s Advisory Group) to break down major barriers for women in snowsports.

Three major barriers to women succeeding in training have been reported:

1. Cost
2. Location/Timing
3. Community - Talented Female Mentors

Learning Experiences (what you’ll do)

• Recognize positive patterns in the learning environment using SBI model
• Self empowerment strategies for performance and fun
• Mental training and framing through visualization and other tools
• Pushing physical/neural-emotional limits through an encouraging team environment
• 4-dimensional skiing/riding: Get slideways, vertical, go deep and turned around

Learning Outcomes (what you’ll go home with)

• Create meaningful/lasting connections
• Inspire, develop and retain female talent on the slopes
• Clear pathways for growth through useful positive feedback cycles from peers and mentors
• Season-long support structures; a new kind of community through a network of women

Summary

Women accomplish amazing things individually and as a group. Often these feats go unnoticed. A little support goes a long way. The invitation is out. Time to elevate. Barriers are oldschool.

Tickets are $25 per day and will be purchased on hill at Sugar Bowl by each participant. 

On Snow Skill Set

Must be comfortable making turns on mellow blue terrain. 

Event Cost

Industry Proffesional - $150

This inlcudes PSIA-AASI members, NSP, US Ski & Snowboard, USASA, resort employees 

Must provide proof of industry involvment at time of purchase. (photo of pay stub, membership card/number etc) 

General Public - $300

8:00 AM: Check-in, get lift tickets @ SSS Tent

8:30 AM: Welcome, introductions, morning warm-up

9:00 AM: On-Snow Session 1

12:00 PM: Lunch

1:00 PM: On-Snow Session 2

4:00 PM: Apres social @ SSS Tent

5:00 PM: Evening Mentorship Presentation & Panel

6:00 PM: End

Tuesday, March 12, 2024:

8:30 AM: Check-in, get lift tickets, morning warm-up @ SSS Tent

9:00 AM: On-Snow Session 3

12:00 PM: Lunch

1:00 PM: On-Snow Session 4

3:00 PM: Group photo & shred

3:30 PM: Wrap-up, feedback & next steps

4:00 PM: End

For the Evening Mentorship Program on Monday, March 11, Stephanie Wilkerson, founder of WISE, will do a brief presentation on mentorship. And there will be a Q&A panel with industry leaders. An opportunity to learn from top women in the snow industry.

This is not a PSIA-AASI event. There are no CEU Credits attached to this event. The cost of this event  being subsidized by the Women's Initiative Fund. And any and all profits made off of this event will be donated back into the Women's Initiative Fund.
